About

Sit back, relax and let’s go through the story, shall we?

Miss Trixie Drinks Tea was created by Alice Bennett, back when blogs were a thing and the Instagram filter Valencia was in heavy use.

Alice created her blog (it was a thing, I promise you) as a way to show her family and friends her weekend baking. It turned into said family and friends drooling over her creations and phoning her at ridiculous hours in the night to satisfy their cravings. So, she started to box up her cakes and take them to the people who craved them.

As they say, you have to give the people what they want. And that does appear to be cake, my friends.

A self-taught baker, Alice was meant to be standing over a KitchenAid. Her number one passion in life is baking (and eating) sweets. Alice spends every spare moment of her day recipe testing, book-marking cookbooks and travelling the globe to get that sugar fix. In fact, she even lived in London just to see how the Brits make their sponge cakes, scones and Chelsea buns. She was almost tempted to apply for the Great British Bake-Off after a few glasses of rosé.

Alice pours her heart and soul into the cakes, baked goods, desserts and sugary treats she makes. All of her creations are homemade using only the finest ingredients. And that’s no lie. You won’t find any home brand chocolate (ew, what?!) over here folks. She’s an ingredient snob and she won’t hide it.

Miss Trixie Drinks Tea started as a side hustle for Alice but after gaining popularity during a global pandemic, it’s become a full time thing! It appears the only thing to get through a pandemic is sugary goods. Alice’s mission is to spread joy through the gift of cake - why send flowers when you can send something that you can consume AND share with your friends?

Alice is a born and bred Melbourne girl. She doesn’t just love the city, she’s obsessed with it. Just ask her for her favourite smashed avocado spots and she’ll chew your ear off.
